Eye Examinations

Examination is done to detect a wide range of problems affecting vision function, such as blurry vision or eye discomfort. The American Optometric Association recommends a comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on ones particular needs.

Evaluations for eye health disorders are also performed. At Los Fresnos Eye Clinic we have the latest diagnostic technology to assist the evaluation of spectacle prescriptions, peripheral vision, eye pressure, and eye health. We use advanced digital imaging technology to better view the internal structures of the eye. In this manner we are able to detect subtle changes that may pose a threat to vision and/or overall health at a much earlier stage. Additionally we are able to show these images to our patients and educate them regarding specific issues related to their eyes. Examinations include tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as effects of medications. A dilated pupil examination and eye photography allows us to provide the best assessment of eye health.  It is recommended for all new patients and on a scheduled basis thereafter.

Contact Lens Consultation

Are your lenses comfortable? Do they dry out? Are you able to read with your contacts? Do you want your eyes to look a little more blue (or green or purple)? These are all things our optometrist will consider when fitting you with contacts. We can prescribe both soft and rigid gas permeable lenses. If considering contacts for the first time, we will be happy to instruct you in how to insert and remove and care for your contact lenses.

 

Eyeglass Repair and Adjustment

Bring your eyeglasses in for our professional adjustment and small repairs. We will adjust your glasses so that they are comfortable and aesthetically correct. We can replace missing screws and nose pads. Adjustments are free of charge, so don’t hesitate to bring your eyeglasses in to us!
